About raaa

At raaa, spatial quality comes first: human-scaled spaces where interior and exterior meet, and thresholds invite rather than divide.

Our core business is transformation — extending buildings' working lives, which is circularity in practice rather than calculation. We work across scales, from careful renovations to fast-moving densification projects, with a no-nonsense mentality: build what's needed, use space fully, stay honest about limits.

We're wary of treating circularity as an end in itself, since architecture is art, craft, and tradition, not just accounting. And amid global inequality, we hold our environmental ambitions in perspective — with humility, not absolutism.

03 / How we work

Philosophy

01

Craftsmanship

We treat building as a craft first, not just a technical exercise. Materials, joints and proportions are considered by hand and by eye, carrying forward a tradition of making that no spreadsheet can fully capture.

02

Circularity

Our core business is transformation — giving existing buildings a longer working life. We see circularity as something practised on site, project by project, rather than a figure calculated after the fact.

03

Densification

As cities grow inward, we work on fast-moving densification projects alongside careful renovations. The approach stays the same: build what's needed, use space fully, and stay honest about what a site can carry.

Team

Rebaz Ali
Rebaz Ali
Architect / Owner

Founder of raaa, leading the studio's design direction and client relationships from first sketch to completion. Rebaz oversees every project personally, believing that close, hands-on involvement is what keeps the studio's work considered, coherent and genuinely tailored to each site and client.

Mohsen Haghparast
Mohsen Haghparast
Architect

Mohsen works across the studio's residential and cultural projects, from early concept through to construction detailing. He has a particular interest in material honesty and in how buildings age well over time rather than simply looking good on the day they're finished.

Mehrnaz Vosoghi
Mehrnaz Vosoghi
Architect

Mehrnaz brings a careful, research-driven approach to the studio's renovation and heritage work, balancing a building's existing character with the practical needs of modern use. She's especially drawn to projects where old and new have to sit comfortably side by side.

Deepthi Gangwal
Deepthi Gangwal
Architect

Deepthi focuses on the studio's larger mixed-use and residential commissions, working closely with engineers and contractors to keep designs buildable without losing their original idea. She enjoys the technical side of architecture as much as the conceptual one.

Celine van Luijt
Celine van Luijt
Stagiaire

Celine is currently completing her internship with the studio, supporting the team across research, drawings and models while finishing her architecture studies. She's been a valuable extra pair of hands on several ongoing projects this year.
